A clean car's appearance can be ruined by dirty floor mats. The problem is that they're nearly impossible to keep clean unless you have a No Shoes policy in your car.
This is where your washing machine comes into play. Instead of straining your back by hand-washing your car floor mats, simply shake them out, squirt on stain remover, and toss them in the washing machine with regular detergent.
You can always do a spot treatment if there is a stain on the mat that just won't budge.
A homemade mixture of one part vinegar, two parts water, and a squirt of dish soap is the go-to solution for scrubbing stains out of car mats.
Fill an empty plastic spray bottle typically used for household cleaners with this solution. Simply soak the stain for five minutes before blotting with a towel or cloth.
