Alfa Romeo launches updated Stelvio and Giulia

Stellantis reaffirms commitment to Alfa Romeo brand with introduction of refreshed Giulia and Stelvio models

The Giulia and Stelvio remain the cornerstones of the Alfa Romeo brand and now these two models have been updated with a host of existing changes.

The interiors of both cars have been refreshed to further highlight quality and elegance. Connectivity has been improved thanks to the addition of an 8.8-inch touch screen infotainment system that boasts smartphone like ease of use while enabling a suite of Mopar services for remote car management.

The underpinnings have been slightly updated too. The front suspension has double wishbones with semi-virtual steering, to make suspension angle more controllable. The new Alfalink is introduced on the rear suspension. This multi-link system remains rigid when cornering, but is also longitudinally flexible.

The all-aluminium engines of the Giulia remain the same, but are now Euro 6b-final compliant. The 2.0 litre turbocharged unit boasts 206kW and power is transferred to the rear wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission. The Giulia QV is fitted with a bi-turbo V6 powerplant that boasts 375kW, enabling a 0-100km/h sprint time of 3.9 seconds.

In addition to the aforementioned suspension upgrades the Giulia QV is equipped with Alfa Chassis Domain Control and innovative Alfa Active suspension, a system that continually and actively controls the suspension and shock absorbers.

Based on the same dynamic platform as the Giulia is Alfa Romeo’s first SUV, which conquered the challenge of making an Alfa capable of driving with agility off-road without losing anything in terms of performance and handling on the road.

Boasting perfect 50/50 weight distribution, Alfa Romeo Q4 all-wheel drive architecture, excellent power to weight and innovative engine and driver technologies, it embodies everything an Alfa Romeo should.

The Stelvio boasts a five-star Euro NCAP safety rating thanks in part to a host of innovative safety systems including Integrated Brake System, Autonomous Emergency Brake with pedestrian detection, Blind Spot Monitoring, Forward Collision Warning and Lane Departure Warning.

Under the bonnet is the same all-aluminium, four-cylinder, 206kW, 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine combined with an eight speed automatic transmission, which all contribute to a 0-100km/h sprint time of 7.2 seconds.

The Stelvio Quadrifoglio is equipped with an exclusive aluminium 2.9 V6 Bi-Turbo petrol engine, which delivers 375kW at 6 500rpm and 600Nm from 2 500rpm. Thanks to the Q4 all-wheel drive system, this model can complete the 0-100km/h sprint in just 3.8 seconds on its way to a top speed of 283km/h.

Further additions include rear USB ports, a cargo net, passive entry, a wireless charging pad and eight-way adjustable seats.

The Stelvio is fitted with a new Driver Assistance Pack which includes automatic high-beam assist, Active Blind Spot Assist, Outside and Interior rear view mirrors with electrochromic auto dimming, Lane Keeping Assist and Driver Attention Alert.
