All-new Range Rover Sport unveiled
Range Rover lifts covers off the third generation Sport
Range Rover has taken the covers off their all-new Range Rover Sport. This model is set to redefine luxury by effortlessly combining on-road performance with Range Rover refinement, progressive design and connected convenience.
The same but different
The exterior is unmistakably Range Rover Sport and features taut surfacing, a dynamic stance and an easily recognisable profile. Short overhangs remain, as does the assertive front-end and steeply raked front and rear glazing.
This sculpted exterior is detailed with exquisite finishes that include a stealth-like front grille and digital LED lighting unit. The slimmest lights ever fitted to a Land Rover, sit above a sculpted, double-aperture lower bumper that incorporates a horizontal body colour element, which aids in creating greater visual width.
At the rear perfectly honed design elements incorporate a sculpted tailgate that features a full-width Range Rover script. Continous LED light graphics introduce surface LED technology to a production vehicle for the first time. The characteristic shoulder line runs the length of the vehicle and is accentuated by new lower fender details as well as the longest spoiler ever fitted to a Range Rover.
The clean exterior look is enhanced by flush glazing and door handles, a hidden waist rail finisher and laser welded roof. Unique exterior touches include Satin Grey alloy wheels and Satin Burnished Copper design elements. Dynamic models are fitted with unique front and rear bumpers and bespoke lower cladding in body colour.
The interior features the trademark command driving position, the latest technologies and the finest materials.
Material choices include tactile and lightweight Ultrafabrics premium textiles finished in attractive new Duo Tone colourways as well as luxurious grained, Windsor or Semi-Aniline leather options. These materials seamlessly blend with the Moonlight Chrome interior finishes while design features like integrated audio speakers contribute to the clean, crisp and modern aesthetic.
22-way adjustable, heated and ventilated electric memory front seats with a massage function and winged headrests are the cornerstone of an engaging and supportive journey. Next generation Cabin Air Purification Pro is available to create and maintain the perfect driving environment. The Meridian Signature Sound system is the most advanced and powerful audio system ever fitted to a Range Rover Sport and features 29 speakers and a subwoofer for a total of 1430W. Active Noise Cancellation plays its part, reducing the effect of road and tyre noise that enters the cabin.
The Pivi Pro infotainment system features a high resolution floating 13.1-inch curved touchscreen positioned at the centre of the modernist dashboard that allows for control of all systems including navigation, media and vehicle settings through an easy to use user interface. The Pivi Pro screen is complimented by a 13.7-inch interactive driver display.
New Dynamic Response Pro works hand in hand with the latest generation Dynamic Air Suspension that is fitted to all models. An intelligent system is able to enhance the bandwidth of the suspension and by doing so deliver traditional Range Rover comfort as well as dynamic handling.
Cornering ability is taken to the next level thanks to all-wheel steering, torque vectoring by braking and an electronic active differential.
Enhanced off-road ability is a given thanks to Land Rover’s latest Terrain Response 2 system that now also incorporates adaptive off-road cruise control.
The latest safety focussed Advanced Driver Assistance Systems include Emergency Braking, 3D Surround Camera, Wade Sensing, ClearSight Ground View, manoeuvring Lights, Driver Condition Monitor and Lane Keep Assist.
Under the bonnet
When launched the South African range will include an extended range Electric Hybrid, six-cylinder Ingenium petrol and diesel engines as well as the all-new V8 Twin Turbo. In 2024, the new Range Rover Sport line up will expand to include a fully electric model.
The new P510e Electric Hybrid combines performance, efficiency and more than 100km of zero emissions EV range as it blends Land Rover’s 3.0-litre six cylinder Ingenium petrol engine with a powerful 105kW electric motor and 38.2kWh battery for a total system output of 375kW. In the real world this means a 0-100km/h sprint time of 5.4 seconds and an electric driving range of up to 113km.
The new flagship V8 Twin Turbo produces 390kW that will allow the Range Rover Sport to accelerate from 0-100km/h in just 4.5 seconds.
The extensive line up of powertrains will also include a powerful P400 mild-hybrid straight six Ingenium petrol and a six-cylinder D350 diesel engine.
All Range Rover Sport models are fitted with eight-speed ZF transmissions and Intelligent All-Wheel drive.
The Range Rover Sport will be available in S, SE, HSE and Autobiography specification with a First Edition available throughout the first year of production.
