Audi RS6 and RS7 receive extra dose of performance
Audi performance models treated to additional performance
The new Audi RS6 performance and RS7 Sportback performance are more powerful and faster than any RS6 and RS7 to date and are bursting with equipment that sharpens the models experience and promises a more emotive driving experience.
Extra boost for more power
The potent 4.0 litre V8 biturbo TFSI engine now offers an additional 22kW and 50Nm for a total output of 463kW and 850Nm allowing for an incredible 0-100km/h sprint time of 3.4 seconds. These performance gains were possible thanks to a variety of enhancements including larger turbochargers and increased boost pressure.
Transforming power into performance
Power is transferred to all four wheels via an eight-speed tiptronic transmission and quattro in a seamless fashion. The strictly mechanical centre differential distributes engine power to the rear axle at a ratio of 40:60, but when slippage occurs, more drive will be transferred to the wheels with the most traction, with the front axle able to accommodate up to 70 percent of power and the rear axle as much as 85 percent.
The new RS6 Avant performance and RS7 Sportback performance roll off the line on standard 22-inch matte titanium grey, diamond turned wheels, which are also available in burnished glossy metallic black, matte black or matte neodymium gold and are fitted with performance orientated Continental tyres.
The Audi drive select dynamic handling system lets the driver fine tune the vehicles character from one of six profiles including efficiency, comfort, auto, dynamic as well as two customisable RS-specific modes.
Fresh exterior and styling packages
These two new performance models are available in a total of 16 exterior colours which are accentuated by matte grey exterior components including the exterior mirrors, front spoiler, front side flaps, side sill inserts, roof rails, side window trim and rear diffuser.
Inside story
In the interior, the familiar RS design packages in grey and red have been expanded to include the colour blue. The steering wheel rim in Alcantara black features contrasting stitching in Mercato blue, as do the floor mats, the side of the centre console and the selector lever cuff. Customers can also order RS design packages in three colour variants which includes different seat material inlays.
The display of the standard 12.3-inch Audi virtual cockpit plus offers new features including a blinking shift indicator in manual transmission mode which changes the rpm display from green to yellow to red as in motorsport applications. Launch control fully exploits the acceleration potential by signalling the ideal moment to accelerate off the line, with new traffic light icons.
