The A7 Sportback range now includes a performance model in the S7 Sportback, offering a sporty and luxurious driving experience like no other.

Beautiful design

The Audi S7 Sportback is characterised by its striking, distinctive design. Embracing the new Audi design language further emphasises its sporty look, along with dynamically styled front trim, wide sills and rear diffuser with four tailpipe trims. Distinctive S trim elements in dark chrome and aluminium on the radiator grille lamellas, the front blade, the side air inlet, the exterior mirrors and the rear diffuser proclaim the sporty characteristics at a glance. HD Matrix LED headlights with animated rear lights connected by a flat strip sharpen the sportier design even further while 21-inch wheels in an S-specific design infuse the S model with on-road presence.

Inside story

Inside a sophisticated and modern look awaits the driver, black colour schemes, sophistically sporty inlays and colour contrasting stitching ramp up the sporty driving experience. An extended range of equipment includes the Audi virtual cockpit with 12.3-inch display, MMI navigation plus, four-zone automatic air conditioning, HD touch displays with haptic feedback, contour lighting with up to 30 colours, Audi phone box and smartphone interface, Bang and Olufsen premium sound system with 3D sound an panoramic glass sunroof. The full suite of Audi connect technology around connected infotainment, remote services, safety and convenience features are standard fitment.

S sport seats with integrated head restraints, embossed S logo and rhombus pattern come standard. For additional comfort, Audi offers multi-adjustable customised contour seats optionally with ventilation and massage functionality.

Further S-specific equipment details include a dedicated graphic layout of the standard Audi virtual cockpit with rev counter flashed up centrally, a steering wheel with flat-bottomed rim, stainless steel footrest and pedal caps.

Driver assistance equipment options include a 360 degree camera, adaptive cruise control, night vision assistant, lane change warning and Quattro with sports differential to name a few.

Clean power

The mild-hybrid system (MHEV) on the new Audi S7 Sportback helps to improve fuel efficiency and allows for start/stop operation from a speed as low as 22km/h. Thanks to the integration of the mild-hybrid system and vehicle sensors, the S model realises a fuel saving of up to 0,4 litres and can coast for up to 40 seconds with the combustion engine deactivated.

The 3.0 TFSI engine is notable for its power delivery and efficiency, producing 331kW and 600Nm. Thanks to a tiptronic gearbox it can sprint from standstill to 100km/h in 4,6 seconds on its way to a top speed of 250km/h.

Dynamic prowess

As with all Audi S models, Quattro permanent all-wheel drive is standard. During normal driving conditions, its self-locking differential distributes torque between the front and rear axle in a 40:60 ratio.

The standard progressive steering already comes with sports ratios, the greater the steering lock, the more direct the steering is. As an option, dynamic all-wheel steering is available, this combines dynamic steering with a variable ratio at the front axle and separate rear-axle steering that is operated by spindle drive and track rods. At speeds up to 60km/h, the rear wheels turn as much as five degrees in the opposite direction to the front wheels, reducing the turning circle by up to 1.1 metres. At medium and high speeds above 60km/h, they are turned by as much as two degrees in the same direction as the front wheels making the S7 much more manoeuvrable and agile at low speeds.

The S sport suspension on the Audi S7 Sportback comes with damping control as standard, lowering the body of the vehicle by 10mm. Adaptive air suspension is a comfort-orientated alternative and can be set to three modes.

For even sportier road behaviour, Quattro drive can be supplemented with a sport differential on the rear axle, which can be adapted via Audi drive select with modes for comfort, auto, dynamic, efficiency and individual.

Pricing

The new Audi S7 TFSI Sportback Quattro Tiptronic is priced at R1 500 500 and is currently on sale at all Audi dealerships around South Africa.
