Since its inception the BMW RT models have been known for their dynamic touring capability as they combine comfort on long journeys with dynamic riding pleasure on country roads. BMW recently made some extensive changes and innovations to the latest R 1250 RT ensuring even greater riding pleasure and touring enjoyment at the highest level.

The two-cylinder boxer engine remains with a capacity of 1 254cc and capability of 100kW at 7 750rpm and 143Nm at 6 250rpm.

The standard Dynamic Traction Control ensures added safety while the new standard Eco riding mode, one of three selectable modes, helps the rider achieve the best possible fuel efficiency.

The new R 1250 RT Adventure can be fitted with Pro Riding Modes as an ex works option. Another new component of the Riding Modes Pro is the engine drag torque control, which can be used to safely avoid unstable riding conditions that can occur during coasting or downshifting due to excessive slip of the rear wheel.

BMW Motorrad Full Integral ABS Pro is now fitted as standard. This system sees the hand and foot brake levers used to apply the front and rear brakes simultaneously and works in conjunction with the ABS Pro with lean angle optimisation aswell as dynamic brake force distribution.

A full LED lamp offers unrivalled brightness and clarity and the new headlamp adds a swivel function with the Adaptive Turning Light option, with the dipped beam turning into the corner as the motorcycle leans over.

Dynamic Cruise Control is now fitted as standard meaning that the preselected speed is maintained even when riding downhill and if the engine braking is not sufficient, fully integral braking is automatically activated in order to maintain the desired riding speed. Active Cruise Control uses radar sensor technology to maintain the speed and the distance between the vehicle ahead of the motorcycle.

The R 1250 RT is now fitted with a 10.25-inch TFT colour screen with integrated navigation and connectivity that impresses with excellent readability, clear menu navigation and highly integrated functionality, such as eliminating the need for an additional display by displaying a map in the instrument cluster.

A newly developed fairing, ensures a fresher and more dynamic look as well as enhanced travel and touring qualities thanks to additional aerodynamic advancements. The upper fairing has been reduced in height, resulting in a wider field of vision for the rider.
