Fiat expands 500 range with addition of 500X models

Following the recent launch of the new Fiat 500, the range is being expanded with the addition of 500X models.

 

The 500X features all the retro cool features of the 500 but with the practical elements that makes crossover vehicles so popular.

 

The Fiat 500X shares Cult, Connect and Sport Trim levels with the 500 family but gains a Cross derivative too.

 

A specification level for every need and pocket

The Fiat 500X features 16-inch alloy wheels along with urban front and rear bumpers. Halogen daytime running lights and LED taillights as well as glossy black mirrors and chrome door handles add an elegant touch.

 

Inside a 3.5-inch black and white TFT Cluster display allows control of all facets of the vehicle. Standard fare includes Blue Monogram cloth seats an air conditioning, Uconnect radio with four speakers, traffic sign recognition, speed advisor, electric parking brake, lane assist and cruise control.

 

The 500X adds to this specification with 16-inch alloy wheels, LED daytime running lights, body colour mirrors, fog lights and privacy glass. The interior is enhanced with a Techno-leather multi-function steering wheel, height-adjustable driver’s seat and front armrest. The Uconnect seven-inch touchscreen radio with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto features six speakers while a 3,5-inch TFT colour cluster, rain and dusk sensors for the lights and wipers as well as parking sensors add to the convenience factor.

 

The 500X Cross model is distinguished by larger 17-inch alloy wheels, front and rear skid plates, roof rails with satin chrome door handles and exterior details, body coloured mirrors and fog lights.

 

The interior is fitted with seats finished in a camouflaged pattern, automatic air conditioning and courtesy lights as well as a Uconnect seven-inch touchscreen with six speakers as well as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto functionality.

 

The 500X Sport boasts 19-inch alloys, full LED headlamps and taillights, body coloured wheel arch mouldings and side skirts. Inside, sport seats, a Technoleather steering wheel and a titanium dashboard add to the feeling of sportiness.

 

Under the bonnet

The Fiat 500X is powered by a 1.4-litre direct injection petrol engine that offers 103kW at 5000rpm and 230Nm at 2500rpm. Gearbox options include either a six-speed manual transmission or a DDCT automatic transmission.

 

Safety technology includes six airbags, comprising driver and front passenger airbags, curtain and side airbags. ABS, ESC and hill start assist help to avoid accidents in the first place.
