The high performance Ford Ranger Raptor is set to become even more desirable as Ford confirms the launch of a new Ranger Raptor Special Edition.

Built in limited numbers, the Ranger Raptor will be fitted with several functional and styling enhancements including eye-catching decals, red accents, an integrated sports hoop and practical Mountain Top lockable black roller shutter.

Finished in Sea Grey, Frozen White, Blue Lightning and Agate Black paint, the Ranger Raptor Special edition gets twin matte black racing stripes, edged with contrast lines on the bonnet, roof, lower body sides, rear wings and tailgate.

The front tow hooks are now finished in red while the flared wheel arches, front and rear bumpers, door handles and Ford embossed grille feature a matte black finish to create an even more imposing appearance than the regular Raptor. A black sports hoop, sourced from the Wildtrak, adds further sporting flair.

The fitment of the lockable Mountain Top black roller shutter, previously seen on the Ranger Thunder, is a great addition that allows owners to secure goods in the load bin, away from prying eyes and protected from the elements.

Inside story

The interior has been updated with red stitching for the steering wheel, instrument panel and door cards. The standard high-grain leather seats have been designed to be comfortable across all driving conditions. A Special Edition-only Raceway Grey instrument panel adds further exclusivity.

The Special Edition model utilises the same Ford Performance chassis, complete with a 150mm wider track and 51mm higher ride height when compared to a standard Ranger. The same bespoke suspension makes use of aluminium double wishbones at the front and multi-link rear architecture along with Fox shock absorbers and General Grabber AT3 all-terrain tyres.

Under the bonnet is the same 157kW 2.0- litre Bi-Turbo diesel engine boasting 500Nm and paired to a 10-speed automatic gearbox. The unique Terrain Management system enables drivers to tackle a wide range of terrain and driving scenarios with safety and in comfort.

Pricing and availability

Pricing for the Ford Ranger Special Edition will be announced closer to the launch in the fourth quarter of 2021.
