GWM expands their P-Series range

GWM are expanding their P-Series bakkie range with the addition of the limited edition 4x4 flagship model. The P-Series LTD is aimed at a variety of bakkie customers as it combines excellent value for money in a comfortable and capable package.

The GWM P-Series range includes a variety of single and double cab configurations that provide a solution across the bakkie spectrum and the LTD is the cherry on top.

Bolstering the range above the LS and LT models in the double cab range, the P-Series LTD is differentiated by attractive 18-inch gloss black alloy rims fitted with all-terrain tyres. Body coloured door handles and mirrors are LTD specific as is the fitment of a black sport bar, plastic bedliner, off-road steel front and rear bumpers and wheel arches that are more suited to off-road riding. Overlanding specific additions include black roof rails, a snorkel and a winch that can pull up to 4,2 tonnes.

Newly developed 4x4 system

Differentiating the top of the range P-Series LTD from other models in the range is GWM’s newly developed four-wheel drive system.\

While other variants are equipped with a torque on demand four-wheel drive system, the fully selectable system on the LTD facilitates a variety of configurations including 2H, 4H, Snow, Mud, Sand and 4L. The offroad system includes the cross-country expert mode and drive mode memory, which links with both the front and rear differential locks.

Making off-roading even easier is offroad cruise control and Trail Turn assist which decreases the bakkies turning circle by 3 metres when necessary for tight off-road manoeuvres.

Under the bonnet

Under the bonnet is the same 2.0-litre turbodiesel engine that offers 120kW at 3 600rpm and 400Nm from 1 500rpm and which is coupled to a slick-shifting ZF eight-speed automatic transmission.

High level of standard specification

Safety is taken care of by ABS, EBD, Traction Control, Rollover Mitigation and the Brake Assist system, Hill Descent Control, a 360-degree camera, a tyre pressure monitoring system and dual front, side, curtain, and front central airbags.

In-car entertainment and connectivity are catered for by a seven-inch LCD virtual instrument cluster and a nine-inch multi-media touchscreen that facilitates Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone mirroring.
