Hyundai adds automatic model to Atos range
Hyundai Atos now available with added convenience of an automatic gearbox
The new Atos was launched two years ago with a new, modern look and styling as well as an impressive list of standard features.
Hyundai South Africa has now expanded the model line up to include an Atos 1.1 Motion derivative complete with a five-speed Automatic Manual Transmission (AMT).
A free-revving 1.1 litre four-cylinder petrol engine that offers 50kW at 5000rpm and 99Nm from 2800rpm powers the Atos. The Atos is well known for its excellent fuel consumption and that remains despite the addition of the automatic gearbox, with real world testing returning a figure of 5.9 litres per 100km.
The Atos rides on McPherson struts upfront coupled with a torsion beam and coil springs at the rear. A tight turning circle of 3,35m and motor driven power assisted steering makes it an easy vehicle to manoeuvre in city spaces.
The complete list of features that the Atos offers at a most competitive price has been a big selling point for the little hatchback while the good looks are another aspect that continues to attract attention.
Body coloured front and rear bumpers and door handles, an attractive front grille and 14-inch steel wheels with attractive covers complete the exterior styling package.
Stand out features of the comprehensively specced Atos include a seven-inch touchscreen infotainment system complete with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto functionality, a multifunction steering wheel, electric windows, central locking, driver and front passenger airbags, ABS and Isofix child seat mounting points.
Pricing and availability
The Atos is sold with a seven-year/200 000km warranty and a 1-year/15 000km service plan.
