Hyundai i20 range bolstered by top of the range N Line derivative
The Hyundai i20, which was launched in SA last year, has received a makeover courtesy of Hyundai’s N department, giving it an even more appealing look.
What makes it different?
The i20 N Line, which is based on the Glide specification level, features a two-tone exterior, with either a white or red body colour paired with a black roof.
In addition a specially designed front and rear bumper and grille featuring the N Line logo, side mouldings, unique 16-inch wheels, a boot spoiler and twin exhausts round off the exterior enhancements.
Inside, unique touches include a black artificial leather trim with N Line logo, red seat trim and insets on the dashboard. A special steering wheel and gear lever with N logo, paddle shift levers at the back of the steering wheel, aluminium pedals and special N Line seats crate a unique cabin experience.
Under the bonnet
Just like a regular i20, the i20 N-Line is fitted with a 1.0-litre, three-cylinder, turbocharged engine that offers a commendable 90kW and 172Nm, driving the front wheels. In addition Hyundai claim that it will use just 6,9 litres per 100km on the combined cycle.
In the i20 N-Line this engine is linked to a seven-speed dual clutch transmission, which can be used in manual shift paddles on the steering wheel.
High-level of specification
The i20 N Line offers connectivity with a range of high-tech convenience features including wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. These features are based around a 10,25-inch digital instrument cluster in front of the driver and a high-resolution 8-inch centre touchscreen for the infotainment system that have been visually combined.
A wireless charging pad in the centre console makes charging of phones easier, however two USB ports are still present. Blue LED ambient light technology adds to the pleasant cabin experience.
