Isuzu Motors South Africa has revealed that the new mu-X, their second-generation seven-seater SUV, will be launched in South Africa before the end of 2021.

The previous generation, which was based on the D-Max bakkie is well proven as a reliable, luxurious and practical go anywhere family vehicle.

The new model is reported to offer class leading driver assistance technology, new state of the art powertrains and a luxurious interior.

Although still be confirmed it is expected that the mu-X will inherit engines from the D-Max including the 3.0-litre turbo diesel which produces 140kW and 450Nm.

The bolder exterior design will be complimented by a beautiful interior, which is set to include luxurious fittings and soft surfaces. A central element of the dashboard is a new 23cm touchscreen.

A suite of passive and active safety systems as well as the latest infotainment systems featuring Apple CarPlay and Android Auto represent a big technological step for the model.

The Isuzu mu-X will be imported from Thailand but has been subjected to an extensive local test programme to ensure that it is ready for South Africa’s unique but often challenging environment.

Isuzu are also ensuring the availability of service and repair parts and customers will benefit from Isuzu’s world class Parts Distribution Centre in Port Elizabeth that stocks more than 30 000 line items of service, maintenance and crash repair parts.

Additional information and pricing will be made available closer to the launch date.
