Kia South Africa has introduced the limited edition Sportage GT-Line to its evergreen Sportage range. With a huge variety of standard features and a number of sporty styling enhancements the GT-Line cements the Sportage’s status as a popular midsize SUV.

What makes it different?

The GT-Line features a number of additions that set it apart from the rest of the model range, including distinctive LED combination lamps front and rear, dual exhausts, model specific skid plates and striking 19-inch alloy wheels.

The high-quality, spacious interior of the GT-Line features a two-tone, diamond patterned and perforated artificial leather trim on the seats, a glossy finish on the centre console, a GT-Line specific flat-bottomed steering wheel and a 4.2-inch colour instrumentation cluster.

Standard specification includes luxury items such as smart entry with push-button start, dual-zone climate control, eight-inch HD touchscreen infotainment with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, seat heating on the front seats, panoramic sunroof, wireless smartphone charging and much more.

Safety equipment includes ABS with EBD, six airbags, Electronic Stability Control, Hill-start Assist Control as well as Isofix and a rear-view camera complete with front and rear parking sensors.

Under the bonnet

Fitting of a Kia with a GT-Line logo is an impressively tractable engine in the form of the 1.6-litre T-GDi turbocharged petrol engine, developing 130kW at 5 500rpm and 265Nm from 1 500rpm. Power is transferred to all four wheels via a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, allowing the Sportage GT-Line to accelerate from 0-100km/h in just 9.1 seconds.

Pricing and availability

The limited edition Kia Sportage 1.6T-GDi AWD GT-Line retails for R649 995, which includes Kia’s industry leading unlimited kilometre/ five-year warranty as well as a five-year/90 000km service plan. Retail sales will commence on the 15th of October with pre-orders now open.
