Kia launches budget beating Pegas
Kia launches value for money sedan in the form of the Pegas
Kia have launched a new model, badged the Pegas, which they believe is perfect for families and first-time buyers looking for a vehicle that offers a combination of value, technology and space.
Modern and practical
The typical bold Kia face with the incorporation of the tiger nose grille, gives the Pegas a sporty appearance. Smart chrome highlights and 14-inch alloy wheels on higher specification models give the Pegas a premium look and feel despite its value proposition. The rear features a neatly integrated boot that belies its large volume.
At 4 300mm in length, the Pegas is one of the largest vehicles in the A/B class, combined with a 2 570mm wheelbase it offers ample space for passengers in the front and rear, while the large boot, measuring 475 litres, adds to the versatility.
The interior features comfortable seats, room to stretch and clever packaging details. In the centre of the dashboard is a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system that incorporates a reverse camera, bluetooth connectivity, USB port, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto functionality, which can be controlled by the relevant buttons on the steering wheel, on all models.
The interior is finished, depending on the model, in smart cloth or artificial leather and fitted with cup holders and a centre armrest for the driver.
Under the bonnet
The Pegas is powered by the latest version of Kia’s 1.4-litre fuel-injection petrol engine that produces 69kW at 6000rpm and 132Nm at 4000rpm. Power is transferred to the front wheels via a five-speed manual or four-speed automatic transmission.
The LX derivative features a variety of standard equipment including front and rear electric windows, six speakers, 14-inch steel wheels, automatic headlamp activation, rear-view camera and steering wheel controls.
Additional equipment on EX models includes a leather steering wheel, faux leather trim, front fog lights, driver’s seat adjuster, cruise control, chrome coated door handles and 14-inch alloy wheels.
All models feature ABS with EBD, disc brakes all-round, dual front airbags and Isofix child seat anchors.
The Kia Pegas offers an excellent combination of value, space and technology that will see it appeal to buyers looking for their first car as well as families looking for great value.
