Land Rover Discovery Sport refreshed

The Land Rover Discovery Sport which is versatile by design and ready for family adventures thanks to seven seats has been treated to a redesigned interior.

The dramatically refined interior includes all the modern luxury features including the latest Pivi Pro infotainment system displayed on an elegant single curved glass touchscreen, as well as all the practical stowage, seat configurations and wellness technologies that make it a favourite among active modern families.

The interior feels bright, spacious and airy with stadium-style seating for optimum visibility in all three rows and the use of finely crafted, tactile materials.

The interior now features a new gear shifter surrounded by a dark anodized aluminium trim finisher and an elegant three-spoke multi-function steering wheel. Dynamic SE models feature DuoLeather interiors with up to three colour options. Suedecloth paired with luxuriously soft, no-leather Luxtec, made from recycled polyester microfibre is also available as an option. Dynamic HSE models are available with Ebony Windsor leather alongside Lunar Grey contrast detailing on the seats.

Available with up to seven seats, the Discovery Sport’s versatile and spacious interior ensures generous room and comfort for all, with up to 24 possible seating configurations. The second row of seats slide and recline with a 40:20:40 split, while a load area of up to 1 794 litres with the rear seats folded down and a powered tailgate allows for the loading of a wide variety of luggage items.

All Discovery Sport models now feature a digital instrument cluster and steering wheel-mounted gearshift paddles as standard, while the redesigned and simplified centre console boasts an elegant new floating 11.4-inch curved glass touchscreen. The latest Pivi Pro infotainment set up features permanently accessible side bars, which provide shortcuts to key vehicle controls and functions, such as media, volume, climate and navigation allowing users to perform up to 90 percent of tasks within two taps of the home screen.

The Discovery Sport now features one of the most sophisticated interior air quality technologies available thanks to Cabin Air Purification Plus. With PM2.5 Filtration and CO2 management, the system helps to promote wellbeing for the whole family, as well as heighten alertness for the driver by monitoring and controlling CO2 levels inside. The advanced system utilises nanoe X technology to combat pathogens and help to significantly reduce odours, bacteria and allergens, while the Air Quality Index app technology allows clients to monitor outside air quality at their location and their destination on screen.

The Discovery Sport features one of the most comprehensive suites of camera technologies in its class, with greater driver reassurance courtesy of 3D surround cameras and ClearSight Ground View projected onto the central touchscreen. The ClearSight Rear View Mirror ensures an unobstructed view behind the vehicle, regardless of what is loaded into the back.

Subtle exterior upgrades

The Discovery Sport has also been treated to a variety of subtle exterior upgrades. Dynamic models adopt a more assertive and purposeful look thanks to a contrast roof and exterior accents including Discovery script, grille, lower body sills and lower bumpers finished in distinctive gloss black as well as gloss black front claw detailing on the bumpers and wheel arches. Bold new optional alloy wheel designs include 21-inch and 19-inch options.

Efficient powertrains

With the Discovery Sport Land Rover continues to offer a range of efficient plug-in electric hybrid and mild hybrid electric powertrains that offer a great combination of efficiency and performance. New battery chemistry on the P300e offers an improved real-world range of up to 47km, offering the capability to complete daily journeys in hushed electric driving mode. The electric hybrid combines an Ingenium 1.5-litre turbocharged three-cylinder engine with an electric motor and 14.9kWh lithium-ion battery. The line-up is completed by the D200 Ingenium diesel model.
