The new Lexus LX, which signifies the luxury brands intent to meet the diversifying needs and lifestyles of customers is scheduled to go on sale in South Africa in the first quarter of 2022.

Since its launch in 1996 the LX has acted as the flagship of the Lexus model range with high-quality, ride comfort and driving performance that can tackle any road in any part of the world. Testament to this is the fact that to date 500 000 units have been sold in 50 countries and regions.

What’s new?

The new LX is designed to provide occupants with exceptional comfort while maintaining the traditional body-on-frame structure that ensures reliability, durability and driving performance. The addition of the new GA-F platform means a weight reduction of approximately 200kg.

The new LX will be available with a powerful 3.5-litre V6 twin-turbocharged petrol engine as well as a 3.3-litre V6 diesel twin-turbo engine.

Electronically controlled brakes and an electric power steering system have been adopted to ensure that customers get to experience the unique Lexus driving performance to the fullest both on and off the road.

Perfect for driving in harsh off-road environments is an instrument panel that features Lexus’ first dual display with a 12.3-inch upper screen and seven-inch lower screen as well as Back Underfloor View, which displays the area beneath the rear part of the vehicle. A world first is the introduction of a fingerprint-authentication push-start switch that contributes to reducing the risk of theft.

The VIP grade has been added to LX model line up. This grade is equipped with four independent seats while the F Sport grade, adds a number of sportier touches.

In terms of styling, the design embodies athletic performance and function, which is a trend that was started with the NX. Ideal proportions are expressed through a blend of sophistication, power and presence.

At the rear the new Lexus logo replaces the conventional L-shaped logo, symbolising the next generation of Lexus.
