Following the announcement that the Opel brand will henceforth be incorporated and distributed by Peugeot Citroen South Africa comes news that the new Opel Corsa is on its way to our shores.

This exciting new model boasts a three-cylinder, 1.2-litre petrol engine, generating 55kW. Power is sent to the front wheels via a five-speed manual gearbox.

The design embodies Opel’s new philosophy of bold and pure exterior design that combines precision German engineering with sculptural artistry.


Inside story

The interior features a driver-oriented instrument panel with a distinctly sporty, yet welcoming personality. The controls are laid out based on the principle of functional grouping and cognitive ergonomics. The latest technology ensures ease of connectivity when on the move.


Sizing up

Compared to the outgoing model, the new Corsa is 10 percent lighter, translating into a five-door hatch that tips the scales at 980kg. Exterior dimensions are similar to that of the outgoing model, the new Corsa is 4.06 metres long, with a boot capacity of 309 litres.


Who is it aimed at?

The Corsa has a rich heritage in South Africa and the latest model remains a compact car for navigating cities or suburban streets. It will be fully enjoyed by progressive young people, interested in the latest technology that prefer a car with a bold design that stands out from the crowd.


When will it be available?

The new Corsa is the first in a number of models to be launched by Opel this year. The Corsa Edition will retail for R289 900 upon launch.
