Pricing of soon to be launched VW Polo announced

Volkswagen has announced the pricing of the updated Polo ahead of its 2022 launch date

Volkswagen South Africa has released pricing of the updated Polo, which is due to be launched locally in the first quarter of 2022.

 

What’s new?

The front and rear ends of the new Polo have been given a sportier, fresher look and the headlights and taillights now come standard with LED technology across the range. A distinctive light signature includes a new LED light strip along the radiator grille in conjunction with the IQ Light LED matrix headlights, which are now a standard feature on the Polo GTI.

 

Inside the new Polo boasts a digital cockpit, a re-designed multi-function steering wheel, new generation infotainment systems and wireless App-connect. IQ Drive Travel Assist feature is now available as an option across the range.

 

The new Polo range will see the implementation of Volkswagen’s new naming convention and will be available in Polo, Polo Life, Polo R-Line and Polo GTI derivatives.

 

Updated specification

The entry-level Polo, in 70kW manual guise, now comes standard with LED headlights and taillights, a new multifunction steering wheel as well as a digital dashboard display.

 

In addition, the 70kW manual Polo Life is offered with additional standard features including a digital dashboard display, front and rear Park Distance Control, electric folding mirrors and lumbar support for the driver and front passenger.

 

The 85kW DSG Polo Life derivative now features a digital dashboard display, Park Distance control, electric folding mirrors, lumbar support for the driver and front passenger as well as a leather-wrapped multi-function steering wheel with shift paddles as standard as well as 15-inch Essex alloy wheels.

 

The Polo R-Line is differentiated from other models by R design bumpers. Standard features include the digital dashboard display, front and rear park distance control, electric folding mirrors, lumbar support for the driver and front passenger as well as a leather-wrapped multi-function steering wheel with shift paddles. The Polo R-Line is fitted with 16-inch Valencia alloy wheels, Composition Media infotainment system, wireless charging functionality and a dual-zone climate control air-conditioning system.

 

Spearheading the range is the Polo GTI which now comes standard with the premium IQ.Light LED matrix headlights as well as a digital dashboard display, Park Distance Control, electric folding mirrors, dynamic chassis control, dynamic front cornering lights and two-zone climatronic system. The GTI will be equipped with the iconic 17-inch Milton Keynes alloy wheels as standard as well as a Composition Media infotainment system with inductive mobile charging.

 

Pricing and availability

The facelifted Polo and Polo GTI will go on sale in South Africa during the first quarter of 2022.

Pricing includes a three-year/120 000km warranty and a three-year/45 000km service plan.
