Details surrounding updates to Range Rover Velar announced ahead of its 2022 launch
Land Rover is enhancing the appeal of their Range Rover Velar with a variety of upgrades including the introduction of a limited edition Range Rover Velar Auric edition.
New technology focuses on occupant comfort and wellbeing with the introduction of Cabin Air Purification Plus, this enhanced new system builds on the existing cabin air ionisation with PM2.5 Filtration that ensures that the air that occupants breathe inside the cabin is clean.
Another air quality feature is the Purify Cycle feature, which allows drivers to schedule an air cleaning cycle via the climate control system, ensuring that the cabin air is cleaned before a journey.
In addition Land Rover is introducing additional new driver assistance features including a rear camera as well as Adaptive Cruise Control with steering assist.
The interior design of the Velar is centred around beautifully integrated digital screens facilitating state of the art Pivi and Pivi Pro infotainment systems that can now receive over the air software updates, one of which was the recent addition of wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Range Rover customers looking for more exclusivity can now choose from 14 distinctive colour options from the SV Bespoke Premium Palette or Match to sample service. Some of these special colours are also available in a variety of finishes such as satin matte and ultra-metallic. The match to sample service essentially allows customers to blend their own unique colour, matched to any paint sample before being applied at the SV Technical Centre.
Range Rover Velar Auric Edition
Based on the Velar R-Dynamic S, the Auric features a unique specification that gives it a personality of its own.
The grille, badges, bonnet, door and front fender vents are decorated with Auric Atlas trim elements The Auric edition is available in three exterior colours including Charente Grey, Ostuni Pearl White and Santorini Black. Special 20-inch Mercurial Gloss sparkle silver alloy wheels and privacy glass round off the exterior enhancements, while optional 22-inch Pincer wheels and a contrast roof are also available.
Customers are able to design an interior to meet their exacting needs by choosing from a full range of luxurious and beautifully appointed trim finishes including Windsor leather or sustainable Kvadrat premium textiles.
This limited edition model also benefits from a full suite of advanced technologies, including Land Rover’s configurable Interactive Driver Display, which compliments the intuitive Pivi Pro infotainment system, by displaying a range of vehicle and navigation information to the driver in a way that is not distracting.
Pricing and availability
The 2022 model year Range Rover Velar and the new Range Rover Velar Auric Edition will be available in South Africa from early next year with pricing starting from R1 293 800 for the Velar D200 S.
