The Toyota Hilux continues to top sales charts as it cements its status as SA’s most popular vehicle month after month. Offered in four body shape configurations including single, Xtra, chassis and double-cab, there is a Hilux to suit every need.

In August 2020 Toyota introduced a new face for the Hilux alongside the new flagship Legend grade, while the SRX made way for Raider. The model update at the time also included the introduction of the premium leisure Legend RS models complete with an electric roller-shutter deck lid.

Based on customer feedback, Toyota has once again made a number of specification updates to the Hilux range.

What’s new?

For 2021 all Legend models, including Raised Body 4x2 will be equipped with a power-adjustable driver seat, leather interior, JBL premium audio system with nine-speakers and dual-zone climate control. A smart entry system and Toyota Safety Sense which includes the Pre-crash system, Lane Keeping Assist and Adaptive Cruise Control ensures added safety and convenience.

The interior of the Xtra-cab Legend models have been upgraded to more closely align with that of the Double-Cab with the addition of leather interior and a power-adjustable driver seat.

The middle of the range Raider models represent excellent value as they strike the balance between utility, comfort and convenience. Raider models are treated to additional specification including an alloy spare wheel, height-adjustable driver’s seat, meter illumination control, 60/40 rear split seat, rear armrest with cup holders, seat back pockets with shopping hooks and an upgrade to dual-zone climate control on 2.8 Double-cab variants.

Find your own way

Due to the inclusion of Android Auto and Apple CarPlay on all models fitted with an audio system, the on board satellite navigation previously offered on selected models has been removed in lieu of customers using apps such as Google Maps, Apple Maps and Waze.

More colours to choose from

For the first time the Hilux will be offered with a pearl-white finish called Platinum White Pearl. A limited run of Sand Beige Units will be produced between October and December 2021.
