Since the Volkswagen Polo Vivo was first introduced in South Africa in 2010, the popular hatch has racked up 313 620 sales in total.

Now, the range topping Polo Vivo GT is being treated to a fresh new look with exterior and interior updates to its unique styling characteristics to ensure it remains as evergreen as always.

The Polo Vivo GT is distinguished by silver mirror caps, a GT rear decal, new wheels and dashboard inserts as well as GT decals on the front door. 15mm lowered suspension and a black boot spoiler add to the sporty look.

Inside the sportier interior look updated with seat cloth inserts and stitch colours that have been changed from blue to red. New grey stitching on the gear lever and handbrake tie in with the grey exterior accents. The interior mats now also feature embroided GT branding. The Polo Vivo GT is available in five exterior colours which includes a new Wild Cherry metallic red colour.

Standard exterior features include attractive exterior features such as 17-inch Mirabeau wheels, Safety package, Lights and Vision package and a single pipe exhaust with chrome trim. Interior attributes include front sport seats, aluminium look pedals, floor mat, an anthracite headlining and cruise control.

Under the bonnet is a 1.0-litre TSI engine that offers 81kW and 200Nm, allowing for a top speed of 196km/h. This high-tech engine offers a great balance between performance and fuel consumption, with Volkswagen claiming that the Vivo GT will use as little as 4.6 litres per 100km.

The refreshed Volkswagen Polo Vivo GT is sold as standard with a three-year/120 000km warranty and a six-yar anti-corrosion warranty. Volkswagen EasyDrive Maintenance and Service Plans are available as optional extras.
