Kia to make appearance at Goodwood Festival of Speed
Kia to commemorate first visit to Goodwood Festival of Speed with two special models
In the coming days Kia will make their first appearance at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, when they display their highly anticipated new electric car, the Kia EV6, as well as the sensational Stinger GT420.
The Goodwood Festival of Speed is the largest and greatest celebration of car culture in the world. The four-day summer event will take place from 8-11 July and as always will feature a presentation of the newest, rarest and most exotic vehicles ever created.
The Kia EV6 is expected to be a start of Electric Avenue, which is an exhibit designed to showcase the variety of electric vehicles. The exhibit will take place in an impressive new structure at the centre of the Festival of Speed.
The EV6 is the first Kia based on the revolutionary Electric Global Modular Platform, which is powered exclusively using electric energy. Featuring a 77.4kWh battery pack and 800V charging as standard, the EV6 boasts a range of approximately 510km and will take just 18 minutes to recharge from 10-80 percent. Kia engineers are in the process of finalising this model but are aiming for a 0-100km/h sprint time of 3.5 seconds.
The Stinger GT420 will be displayed in the First Glance Paddock.
This one-off in-house developed track car boasts a staggering 315kW and 560Nm thanks to fine-tuning of its 3.3-litre twin-turbocharged V6 petrol engine. In addition customised suspension components and tuning as well as substantial weight reduction and uprated Brembo brakes transform this Special iteration of the beautiful Stinger into a true track weapon.
