Motus launched their new website motus.cars late last year and it is already proving to be a formidable player in the South African online motoring retail space.

motus.cars, which really offers car shoppers “everything cars”, has been immediately popular with the public thanks to it’s advanced functionalities, ease of use and the total peace of mind offering, given that it belongs to Motus.

In the three months since it has gone live motus.cars has attracted 319 000 visitors in nearly 500 000 sessions. Most visitors fall within the 25-34 age group, followed by the 35-44 year olds, with 57 percent being male. Most interesting is that more than 75 percent of visits are via mobile devices.

The website is proving to be a great sales tool for Motus with 12 percent of all website enquiries converting into actual sales.

The motus.cars blog has also proved to be extremely popular and has been a big driver of traffic to the website. 152 articles have been published since launch on topics including new car launches, used car road tests, motoring tips and useful car hacks and has tallied up over 15 000 page views.

 

Nearly 250 dealerships are represented on motus.cars, offering new vehicles from 28 OEM brands and used vehicles representing all major vehicle brands.

The majority of used cars advertised on motus.cars are between one and five years old, which means that the mileage of these vehicles is reasonable and that in many cases they still have a service or maintenance plan in place.

Since the launch of the new website, Motus has seen a substantial increase in consumers going through the online finance application process on motus.cars as this simplifies part of the buying process significantly, with Motus finance and insurance managers walking a prospective buyer through the finance application process.

 

The website is continually being optimised and the image gallery of individual used and demo vehicles has since been upgraded and now offers the shopper larger images to view. In conjunction with financial partner MFC car shoppers can now access finance pre qualification and future developments will further expand the vehicle finance functionality, which will enable shoppers to complete more of the shopping process online.
