New Renault Trafic is ready to work
Renault launches fourth generation Trafic
The fourth generation Renault Trafic panel van has been launched in South Africa with a noticeably improved exterior, improved technology and clever storage options.
With the Trafic, Renault hopes to strengthen its offering in the medium panel van segment with a vehicle that is perfectly suited to the needs and expectations of craftsmen and the fleet business.
The new Trafic panel van features an updated, more robust and dynamic front face with full LED lights as standard, which reinforces its DNA as an elegant and dynamic van. The more horizontal hood and vertical grille give it a robust and expressive style in conjunction with the redesigned bumper. A new antenna, new 16-inch wheels and more elegant wheel covers are amongst the updated features.
The completely redesigned cabin is comfortable, ergonomic and designed in such a way that it doubles as a modern office. It features a new dashboard, highlighted by a horizontal line that stretches into the door panels, giving a greater sense of space. The design of the instrument panel, door panels and gearshift knob has been refreshed, while chrome inserts have been added.
The new Trafic offers power adjustable mirrors, comfortable upholstery and new door panels with wider armrests. By folding down the backrest of the middle seat, the cabin is transformed into a mobile office. With enough space for a laptop and an A4-size swivel stand to easily hold any working documents. In terms of storage, the cabin is full of smart solutions to make life easier for the customer, including the new Easy Life drawer, with 88 litres of space, 54 of which are located under the passenger bench seat. The easy to use infotainment system features and integrated R7Go radio, Bluetooth as well as USB and Aux ports.
Driver and passenger safety is taken care of by dual airbags as well as ABS, EBA and ESP.
Under the bonnet
The new Trafic is fitted with a 2.0-litre turbo diesel engine, which is mated to a six-speed manual gearbox. This configuration offers an increase in both power and torque compared to the previous model boasting 125kW at 3500rpm and 380Nm at 1500rpm and is equipped with Eco mode, which offers improved overall efficiency. Renault claims that the Trafic will use just 7.2 litres on the combined cycle.
